Potty Update

Lots of sources (or, really just my Mom and Aunt) have suggested bringing the potty out to the living room to let Clare get more comfortable with it (Beth-You know you LOVE this idea).

Not to actually use it to go potty, but to let her see it and not cry would be the general idea.

So, this morning I was sleeping in and Chris decided to give it a go. He puts the potty in the middle of the floor and Clare sits on it (backwards) a few times. He leaves to use the restroom and came back to the potty taken apart into as many pieces as possible. Let me add, it came assembled, so how she got it apart without a tool kit is funny.

Our thoughts are we'll try this again when she's two.

I think she has made it perfectly clear she IS NOT POTTY TRAINING RIGHT NOW!

I have no idea where she gets this stubborn streak. I'm thinkin' Erin. Or Lisa.

  1. I think you're not recalling how much I HATED things to be all over the place! I would never have taken the pieces apart, I would have carefully constructed the potty and neatly placed it at a 90 degree angle to the corner of the room...and then proceeded to finish cleaning the room!!! :)

  2. Erin-Yesterday I told her (we were in my room) that we couldn't go outside until Mr. Lion and Elmo went back in her crib. She went flying down the hall, threw them both in the crib and went to the top of the steps, saying "outside?" a hundred times. So, she does have the ability to clean up.
