We've had lots to do the last few weeks! Aunt Lisa sent Clare a water table, which Clare LOVES!!! She has played with it several times (Boo, Spring weather) and she likes to pour the water down the front of herself and splash the water around. The only downside is now when we walk through the backyard to get to the car, Clare screams to play with the water table and is really mad, like when we leave the playground. The good news is my neighbors all think we're crazy anyway, so it's not really hurting our reputation!
We also had lots of fun at Aunt Ginny's on her Birthday! We stopped by and Clare was loving Aunt Ginny's birthday flowers! It was too cute!
We went to lunch with my friend Kara, who was a real trooper for her willingness to lunch with Clare. I'm her Mom and I try to avoid it when possible. She helped herself to Kara's food, double dipped the chips and eventually climbed on Kara's lap and stole her drink. So, the usual good manners!
We also met my friend Lauren and her son Shane at the Philly Zoo! It was a great time! The kids were super cute together. Clare was pretty good considering her lack of nap and loved the petting zoo. She totally stole Lauren's lap from Shane and was willing to pet the goats for the first time! She usually gets her hand close and then pulls it away and giggles. She and Shane fed the goats too. At first, she would drop the kibble before the sheep/goat could reach, but eventually she understood. She loved when the goat tried to nibble her hair. Obviously she's a little more brave than her Mom!
I have the pics of Clare's adorable shoes in the first few pics! I've seen the shoes at Target all season and refused to buy them because of the heel. Why would a 1.5 year old need a heel? Well, because they are the cutest shoes made for a 1.5 year old and I have a shoe obsession when it comes to Clare. It's like a bad habit I can't quit. I'm constantly explaining to Chris why she needs another pair. It's a sickness, but seriously aren't they cute? Plus, with the small heel, it kinda slows Clare up as she runs away in public and increases her chances of the fall that's inevitable, so I can typically catch her:) I'm kidding, she falls without the shoes.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

People let me tell you about my best friend. Too cute at the zoo. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY APRIL AND CHRIS!!!!!! Love you both.
ReplyDeleteha ha ha...smelling is in the eye of the beholder!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Monkey is living the dream. Aunt Heather would be proud of the shoes.
ReplyDeleteSooo... I *think* that is a SHEEP in the picture of Clare getting her hair sniffed. Perhaps I am wrong and it was a "sheep/goat" animal that you mention? We just took Gavin to the zoo and we saw sheep and we saw goats, but damn if the CIncinnati Zoo doesn't have any of your mysterious sheep/goats. Are they exclusive to the Philly Zoo? ;)
ReplyDeleteBec-The goat/sheep is specific to Philly. I know the Cincy zoo has a world renowned breeding program, but Philly has the market cornered on the Goat/Sheep. We also have the entirely different animal: Sheep/Goat. Very different.
ReplyDeleteThey are very special animals that can only survive in the Philly area.
