Summer 2012

So....this is awkward.  Kinda like running into that person you've been ignoring since high school at the store, looking a hot mess.  I'll just do what I do when that happens (and it never fails when I'm back home) and act like nothings happened.

Hi!  How are you doing?

Things are good here!

Little Miss Avery Ann is One Years Old!  At her 1 year check up (which was on 8/27), she was 18lbs, 13oz and was 28.5 inches tall.  So, obviously, huge:)  In the small gap between posts, Avery did everything on time motor skill wise (I use the blog as a baby book, so bear with me).  Avery has outgrown her reflux.  She did get tubes on 8/6, after several ear infections.  Hopefully we'll see more speech emerge soon as a result.  Right now she says "Ma", "Da", "Dog", "yeah", "no", "that" and a few other words, but not consistently enough for me to think they count.  Avery has a terrible temper (hair pulling and hitting to be specific).  The worst is when she holds up a chunk of Clare's hair like it's a trophy.  She's a tough cookie for sure.  Avery does have this beautiful, toothy smile and cracks us up daily.  She is so different than Clare.  It is amazing to me to see their little personalities come through at such a young age.

Clare Marie is almost four.  I can't believe how fast she has grown into a little girl.  She is convinced she already four because she already had her family birthday party and I think she will be very confused next week when we re-celebrate her birthday:)  She was very excited to get her ears pierced with Nana and Pop and to get a Dreamlite from Grandma and Grandpa. Clare will be going into the 4 year old Preschool class this year, which is in the afternoons.  She will have some of the same classmates as last year and the same teacher, so that will be a nice transition I think for her.  It seems pretty low key compared to last year.  Clare misses school during the summer.  She had a melt down last week when we left the building after a little meet and greet because she thought she was going all day to school.  So, I think we are all looking forward to her starting back.

We had a great summer, with almost a month of it spent on the road.  I don't anticipate blog posts being all that more frequent but I would like to get back in the habit of updating a little more regularly.  I plan on loading a ton of pictures soon.  I like having on place I can go back and reference.  People always comment on the girls looking alike or asking when they did this or that and the blog takes the places of a photo album and my memory:)

Hope everyone had a great summer!
