Funny sign outside of Richmond, VA's minor league team stadium
Chris unaware I was taking pictures (hehehe)
Clare waiting for some delicious BBQ at Buz & Ned's
Chris wanted to stop at this place he saw on the Richmond episode of Man v Food. It was hands down the most fantastic BBQ ribs we have ever had!
Clare in the "Grocery Store" section and showing the other kids how to ride the shopping carts. Some smart-ass Mom saw me correcting Clare by saying, "We don't climb into shopping carts".
She said, "Well actually, kids do. So she's playing with it correctly to her". I thought about a throat punch but the kid in the picture standing behind Clare was her 9 year old son who wanted to play grocery store with ONLY his Mom, so I figure that's karma's version of a throat punch.
This was in Shadow Park. Chris was standing behind the screen making shadow puppets, totally unaware that the screens were responding to his movements. As he made a gorilla puppet (which he had to explain to me what each animal was) the butterflies landed on his hand.
Clare loved the sand area. I think she was practicing for Hilton Head.
Playing music outside.
Chris was showing Clare how to work the water table. She played along for a few minutes, but then went back to splashing the water and trying to climb into the table.
She was WAY excited in the play kitchen.
Before we went in, Chris
Digging for dinosaur bones. Mostly Clare just tried to eat the rubber pellets when she thought we Chris and I weren't paying attention.
Hands down this was Clare's favorite thing. It had a small handle you pulled up that opened the door and let the wooden eggs fall down the ramp. I thought for sure we were going to have to build a reproduction in the car.
Tons more pics to come!
We stopped in Richmond, VA on our way to Hilton Head to break up the trip. I would highly recommend the Children's Museum if your in the area. Clare had a great time running around for about 2 hours and then it was off for BBQ. She napped for the next 3 hours straight.
I had a migraine on Wednesday and another brewing tonight (So please ignore spelling and grammar errors, my brain is barely functioning tonight). I'm anticipating a second round of Imitrex injections tonight (BOO!). If I'm wrong (which is what I'm hoping blogging about it will do), I'll post more pics tomorrow. If I'm right, all bets are off:(

Yea!!! Thanks for all the good ideas for Richmond! I wish Gavin was a little older to enjoy the children's museum. Am I too old to go? The interactive shadow puppet things looks fun.
ReplyDeleteAlso "karma's version of a throat punch"= me LMAO
Great pics and very funny commentary. Good luck with the migraines!
