Clare's first bouquet
Clare and I went to Chris's baseball game today to watch for a little bit. The head coach's son is 5 (ish?) and he is a very active, very nice little boy. In attempt to distract Clare and buy us more time, I pointed out the dandelion near my foot and told her it was the only flower she can pick. She was excited. She smelled it, made me smell it and talked about how pretty it was. Then she realized there was another one nearby and picked it. The little boy noticed that she was picking flowers and since he listens, his Mom lets him move around freely, while I keep a death grip on Clare's hand. He went and picked Clare a flower. Then he picked her another one. Clare sweetly told him "thank you" and counted her 4 flowers, while he sat back down.
Clare looked around and realized there are TONS of flowers nearby, so she called out "Boooyyyyy. Boooooyyyyy! MORE FLOWERS!" and pointed. I was mortified and told her to stop being a Bossy Bee. The little boy? Immediately got up from his chair to go pick her more flowers. He would bring her a flower, she would thank him, flirt with him for a second and then demand he get more flowers for her.
She even tried to tug on his hand at one point to get his attention when she spied flowers over where the pitchers warmed up. His Mom told him he couldn't go over there right now because it was dangerous. Clare, unconcerned for his safety, instructed him to "Get me more flowers!". His Mom and I were chatting when we realized the little boy had made a bee line for the pitching area and was frantically picking flowers. He came back and presented her with 15 more flowers. The pic doesn't do it justice because we crushed them, left them in the van and Clare "counted" them 100 times.
Super cute, but gosh where did she get to be so bossy with boys from?

Quick Update
Meet Sara. She is the very large stuffed animal that now lives here. Clare's first intro to Sara was a little rough. We picked Sara after the Triceratops in the Land Before Time.
Clare teaching Sara's whose Boss. Sadly, this picture reminds me of when hunters hold up the antlers on a deer they've killed. I think Clare is just asserting herself as the hunter in this situation in case Sara gets out of hand. Clare wants Sara to understand what could happen if she is a band listener.
Milkshake:) Clare and I went to visit Arby's for their Jr. Shakes and we each enjoyed one before Daddy's baseball game.

Mommy's attempt at Easter cookies. Next year, we'll email Mrs. Hayes ahead of time and put in our request for an order of cookies and she can ship them to us.
Easter Parade!!! Sadly, it was rained out, so the Easter Egg Hunt was canceled. The parade went on indoors with the "performance" in the classroom. Clare saw me (I was in a huge crowd of parents, grandparents, aunt, uncles, etc.) on the last pass through. She was excited and started screaming "It's my Mommy! It's my Mommy! See? There she is!". She continued to point me out in the performance in the classroom.
Her new nervous habit of pulling on her lip. Several of the kids are finger suckers when nervous, so I'm not surprised this new habit started. But, isn't she cute?
Showing me her name in the garden...
I didn't feel the need to blur the other kids faces in this video since my fancy camera did it for me. I did feel tempted to light my Christmas present on fire. This is Clare's Class performance. Can you tell she's the youngest? She's by far smaller than the other kids.
I'll be sure to update more after Easter.
Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
