Recent Shenanigans
Above is Hershey Park's way of letting you know who can ride each ride. Clare was clearly still a Miniature. We did the Carrousel first, which Clare hated. I thought for sure she would love it, but the idea of her being up high on a horse by herself didn't fly.
Next up was the Choo-Choo train. That was such a big hit we rode it 4 times! Clare really liked the bell and was excited to sit and look around. After the Choo-Choo I tried to sell it to her that the mini Roller Coaster was like a Choo-Choo.
This was on the mini roller coaster. Hershey Park is huge (Cincy gals-think Kings Island) and there was a ton to do. However, after 4 rides on the train, I thought I could sell it to Clare that the Roller Coaster was a different type of Choo-Choo. Kids around me listened to me lying and looked at their parents like I was crazy. Clare was doing great until the coaster took off. Then she was ticked! She knew that this was nothing like the Choo-Choo she liked and she had been scammed by her own Mom. She proceeded in riding the rest of the ride while in a death grip on my arm. Afterwards, she said "Yeah....I did it" and clapped for herself.
This was hands down Clare's favorite part of Hershey Park. We went to the Aqua Theater and saw the Sea Lion show. It was a Wild West tale about robbers and sea lions. Clare was so excited when she saw the sea lions she was wiggling her butt around. As most of you know, Clare's favorite thing to say is "What is this/that?". She likes to point and ask the question 100 times. Usually, if you say a word she knows, she'll repeat it back and call it a day. If it's a new concept, she'll continue to ask the question 100 times. In private, I answer a few times and then call it a day. Since we were in public and seated the third row in (which, labeled the Splash Zone resulted in Clare and I getting soaked), I continued to answer her question with "It's a sea lion" about 19 times in a row. The delightful Dad in front of us (who I nicknamed Mr. Big Fat Head) was sitting with his 2 kids and wife. After the 19th or so time of saying they were sea lions, I gave up and said, "It's like a fish". Since Clare knows fish, she responded with "feessshhh" and clapped. Mr. BFH turned around and said....wait for it.....wait for it....let me add it was 100 degrees and I had kinda run out patience....."Well, you know they aren't actually fish, right?". His wife (thankfully) gave him a nasty look and I followed up with the most polite sentence I could say in front of the parrot, which was "Yeah, I got that". Even Clare stopped wiggling on my lap and shot him a super cranky, judgy look. For the remainder of the show, I had a pretend conversation in my head with Mr. BFH, with all of the things I wished I would have said.
This pic is in the climbing section of the Port Discovery Children's Museum in Baltimore! It was a HUGE Museum, hands down one of the best we've been to. Clare loved it!
Another Choo-Choo.
More climbing
Ball Pit
Water world...Clare LOVED it.
This was in the cute little Diner they had. Clare mostly went around stirring things and making it look like she was working. I'm going to go ahead and blame that one on someone else.

Jail in the Mystery House
Art area at the Museum. It was a great space, with tons of different age appropriate activities. Clare had a blast and made the pic below.
Chris took this picture. He came in the kitchen to find Clare had opened up a pantry, helped herself to the dried fruit and was chowing down one Sunday morning.
Aunt Ginny and Clare at the Mummers Show at Grandma's new place.
The lead Mummer gave Clare his umbrella, which went great until he came to take it back. Thankfully, the string band was loud so you couldn't hear her screaming.

Checking out Muno. She was so excited to see YGG stuff everywhere and would continue to point out every single YGG item.

stressed out...
*Today was her first day of gymnastics. As you know, Clare is a bit of climber. So, we thought it best to help direct some of that energy towards something constructive. To say it was a disaster would be putting it mildly. I often referred to Clare throwing a phone at a 4 month old's head as my most embarrassing parental moment thus far. Sadly, today, she exceeded that moment. It seems Clare has a bit of tough time taking turns. She also would like to be the teacher, not the student. Clare started off excited, ready to run onto the floor. The challenge started as soon as Clare realized she wouldn't be going straight to the big girl beam or the high mats. At circle time, Clare and I fought to the death to make her stay in the area. Oh, and the other 5 kids in class? Totally doing what they were suppose to be doing. After a disaster of circle time and marching and all that fun stuff, Clare was the first kid to dive under the parachutte. So, it was great she wasn't scared (only one other kid joined her) she had to be chased out (by me climbing under the parachutte, on my hands and knees). After that, it was time to work on bars. So, again she was totally brave and did great all the way until she realized that she would have to wait her turn. That was a giant fail. Clare started crying huge tears and fighting me to run away. When it was her turn the water works would stop and she was great. When she had to be pried off the bars, more tears. We did get one compliment since Clare can do a chin up with her hands facing palm out (palm in is the easier pull up). She can also propell herself up on top of the bar and throw herself over the bar. The teacher was really shocked at her "above her age groups strength". But again, my kid is the worst listener and has wild behavior but is strong? Not quite what you wanna hear. We then went over to the jumping circuit which Clare loved it until she realized that each kid would take turns on the trampoline. Another melt down ensued and Clare took off down the running trampoline track with me flaying behind her. Clare cried for the remainder of the class, including circle time at the end. She also cut the teacher off with every activity (while the teacher was talking) by saying "Ready, Set, GO!". She told another kid to "hush" when she was talking (the little girl was asking her Mom to help her and Clare was with the teacher). Clare literally stopped her jump, turned around, shot the little girl her meanest Mommy face and said "HUSH". One Mom nearly peed herself trying to hold in a giggle. Clare also pointed at other children several times to where they were off their mark. Awesome, huh?
The class was a disaster. The teacher approached us at the end (I was waiting for her to ask us to never come back) and said it's not suprising, she is younger than her peers and just strong spirited. She told us to not be discouraged and that she'll be great in a few more classes, just to hang in there and that she was not a disruption. I'm assuming my face gave it away, since I started watching the clock, pouring sweat and trying to decide if I could get our shoes from the cubby and make it out the door unnoticed after 15 minutes.
Gymnastics....did not go so hot.
Yeah 2 year olds.
